Science Club

“SCIENTIA” the Science Club of Barasat Government College has been formed by formal notification on 9th September, 2022. It comprises of students of the departments of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geography and Economics of the institution through voluntary participation.

Objectives of the Club

  • To combat the growing trend of student apathy in taking up basic science as a field of study, the science departments have come together to form a Science Club for the promotion and popularization of basic science through creation of popular videos, posters, magazines etc. on scientific personalities, events  and discoveries.
  • To create a common platform for exchange of scientific knowledge, innovative thinking and scientific resources among all science students across all departments to propagate interdisciplinary practices.
  • For the promotion and cultivation of scientific temperament and ideas among students of the institute as well as among the students of the neighboring schools.
